Since 1998 BIO-WEST has supported Common Ground’s mission to provide life-enhancing outdoor activities for disabled youth and adults; the firm recently donated $10,000 to help build a lodge at the Beaver Mountain Ski Area in Logan Canyon, Utah. Common Ground, founded in 1993 as an AmeriCorps VISTA project, is eliciting community support to build this year-round recreation facility, which will provide much needed adaptive equipment workshop and storage, warm-up and stretch-out space, a kitchen for meal preparation, and a great room for meals, activities, and functions. The lodge’s education and resource room will be named in BIO-WEST’s honor. For more information on this project: http://www.cgadventures.org/Beaver-Mtn-Lodge/

A long-time sponsor of Common Ground, BIO-WEST was recognized as corporate donor of the year in 2010. Some of this support has come from company principals providing opportunities for employees to attend Common Ground’s annual benefit dinner and auction to support the nonprofit. Employees, in turn, have made donations to Common Ground in lieu of holiday gifts for BIO-WEST’s owners; these gifts were often matched by the owners to double the donation. BIO-WEST employees have also assisted Common Ground by providing IT support in its office and volunteering to assist with outdoor activities. In 2014 Common Ground provided 2,700 user days for more than 500 individuals. More about Common Ground is available here: http://www.cgadventures.org/
